New Grant Awarded to Preserve Early Prolog Code

Prolog Heritage is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a significant grant from the National Science Foundation to support our efforts in preserving early Prolog code. This grant will enable us to digitize and archive a collection of historically significant Prolog programs, documentation, and related materials. These resources provide invaluable insights into the evolution of Prolog and its impact on the field of computer science. The project aims to make these materials accessible to researchers, educators, and the general public through an online repository.

The preservation of early Prolog code is crucial for understanding the origins and development of logic programming. Many of these early programs are at risk of being lost due to the deterioration of physical media and the obsolescence of the hardware and software required to run them. By digitizing and archiving these materials, we can ensure that they are preserved for future generations. This project will also involve the creation of metadata and documentation to facilitate the discovery and use of these resources.

We are grateful to the National Science Foundation for their support of this important project. We believe that this initiative will make a significant contribution to the history of computing and will inspire new research and innovation in the field of logic programming. We will be providing regular updates on the progress of the project through our website and social media channels. Stay tuned for more information on how you can access and contribute to this valuable resource.
